Dealing With the Space Above Your Arizona Cabinets

When it comes to planning your kitchen space or undergoing a major redesign, there are numerous considerations to keep in mind. Everything from choosing your appliances to opting for your chosen set of Arizona cabinets is an important decision that will impact the overall end result of your kitchen. One of the more unique considerations that relates to your Gilbert cabinets in particular is that odd space between the top of your cabinets and the ceiling. You have two choices when it comes to this odd strip of space: fill it with the cabinets, taking them all the way to the ceiling, or utilizing the space in some functional way.

If you fill the space, then you don’t have to worry about maintaining another space. When you leave a space at the top of your set of cabinets, then you have to dust it and clean it, depending on the type of items that you keep up there.

However, if you opt to maintain a space between the ceiling and the top of your cabinets, then there are a number of things you can do with the space. For instance, if you have a collection of some sort, then you might consider storing your collection on display in the space between the Arizona cabinets and the ceiling. This is particularly poignant if you have a collection that you don’t want just anyone to have access to, such as a china collection or a bunch of teapots. You can also decorate the area with greenery (vines are always a lovely touch here), which can in turn drape down over your Arizona cabinets for a dramatic effect.

This space is also optimal for storage. If there is not a clear view between the top of the cabinets and your ceiling, then you can keep items that you normally want out of view in this area. Think Tupperware tops and bowls, seasonal decorations and the like for this space. Alternatively, if you don’t have a collection of certain items and simply want to leave the space above your Arizona cabinets empty, you can do so, as well. While it looks better to have something decorative, it is not a prerequisite to do so. There are plenty of other ways to bring your Arizona cabinets to life and spice up the décor of your kitchen to make it both functional and visually-appealing.
